Columbus comedians Bob Cook and Chris Coen will perform Saturday night at the Fostoria Elks club.

Cook, the 32-year-old headliner, has appeared on the Bob and Tom Show and Howard Stern's Howardtv.

"He's raunchy, but he's such a loveable guy," said Bob Pope, Elks trustee who organized the show. "He's kind of like an overgrown teddy bear. He's edgy. He can talk about anything and just make it funny. He doesn't hold back."

Comedian Chris Coen, 31, will open the show Saturday night.

"They're a good match together," Pope said.

Both comedians are known for their raunchy styles, and their material complements each other, he said.

Coen won the 2008 Funniest Person in Columbus and 2009 Open Mike Talent Search, Champion's Division competitions at the Funny Bone club in Columbus where national comedians Jerry Seinfeld and Drew Carey have appeared, among others.

Coen's themes during his comedy routines include "a lot of poor decision-making, drunken arrests, miserable interactions with the opposite sex, and odd, edgy views on everyday topics," according to his Web site.

Both Cook and Coen are both touring in the midwest.

Pope, a local comedian, will MC the show and also perform for 10 to 15 minutes.

He said he organized the Comedy Night as a fundraiser for the Elks club and also to attract a younger membership to the club, which has an average age of 67.

The Comedy Night begins at 6 p.m. with a dinner menu of New York strip steak or walleye. Coen and Cook will perform at 9 p.m.

Tickets are on sale at the Fostoria Pantry and Flowerland until the time of the show and at the Elks Club until noon Saturday. Tickets for the dinner and the show are sold separately. Ticket for the dinner are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets for the show are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Only proceeds from the dinner sales will go to the Elks Club.

Tickets may be reserved at the advance ticket price by calling the Elks Club at 419-435-5516.
