St. Wendelin drops C-R
Brooke Baker and Taylor Burns combined for 35 kills and Lexie Valachovic served for 15 points Saturday as St. Wendelin downed Cory-Rawson 29-27, 26-24, 16-25, 25-22 in non-league play.

Baker notched 20 kills and seven blocks, Burns recorded 15 kills, seven points and 12 digs and Valachovic had three aces to go with 16 digs as the Mohawks upped their record to 13-7.

Katelyn Schiefer added eight kills and 10 blocks for St. Wendelin, while Chelcie Rutter contributed five points, 26 assists and two blocks, Tara Emerine came up with 29 digs and Veronica Peters had eight points and nine assists.

The Mohawks also got three points, five kills and nine assists from Meghan St. Clair, two aces and 15 digs from Brittany Hargis and three kills from Michelle Herman.

St. Wendelin won the junior varsity match 25-20, 25-16 as Kendra Bechtel, Matti Burns and Megan McNinch each served for 10 points.



NEW RIEGEL

DOMINATES VANLUE

NEW RIEGEL -- Emma Ladd belted nine kills and Ashley Reinhart tallied 14 assists Saturday as state-ranked and unbeaten New Riegel cruised to a 25-6, 25-3, 25-10 non-league triumph over Vanlue.

Ladd went 14-for-14 hitting while Reinhart was 22-for-22 setting as the Blue Jackets, ranked seventh in the state in Division IV, upped their record to 20-0.

Paula Kelbley added six kills on 12-for-12 hitting for New Riegel, while Amber Mathias and Jami Wagner had five and four kills, respectively.

The Blue Jackets also got seven assists on 13-for-13 setting from Brooke Scherger, nine digs from Paige Noftz and five digs from Shana Scherger.

New Riegel's junior varsity raised its record to 18-2 with a 25-14, 25-6 victory. Megan Mathias had 17 points with eight aces and five digs for the Blue Jackets, while Holly Tiell had 11 points with three aces and two kills, Stacey Wank had four kills and two digs and Abby Cassidy added four kills.



ARCADIA BEATS

BETTSVILLE IN THREE

ARCADIA -- Rachelle Palmer racked up seven kills and 12 assists Saturday as Arcadia beat Bettsville 25-11, 25-11, 25-11 in a non-league match.

Courtney Garcia added three aces on 10-for-10 serving for the Redskins (3-16), while Miranda Palmer had two aces on 21-for-21 serving and Miranda Ridenour came up with eight digs.

Arcadia won the junior varsity match 25-17, 25-12.



Elmwood loses

pair of matches

LEIPSIC -- Elmwood fell to 7-13 Saturday with non-league losses to Leipsic and Delphos Jefferson.

The Royals fell 25-16, 25-16 to Leipsic and 25-16, 25-8 to Jefferson.

Amanda Peters smacked 12 kills and made three blocks for Elmwood, while Brittany George had five kills and Leanna Irwin finished with 20 assists on 84-for-85 setting and 23 digs.

The Royals also got 18 digs from Sam Pollard and 13 digs from Kylie Snowden.
