Area players compete in district match

OLD FORT -- Seniors Brittany Egbert and Brianna Richey of Hopewell-Loudon, Taylor Burns of St. Wendelin and Paula Kelbley of New Riegel played in this week's District 6 All-Star Volleyball Match at Old Fort High School.

Only seniors were eligible to play. Egbert was a first-team selection in Division IV, while Kelbley was named to the second team and Burns made the third team.

Others who were recognized at the match included Fostoria High School juniors Katonya Lawson (Division III first team), Allyson Beechum (second team) and Megan Manns (honorable mention).

Fostoria's Bob Moran and Hopewell-Loudon's Erin Dircksen were among the honorary coaches. Dircksen was honored as a co-coach of the year in Division VI.
