A Fostoria man is being held on a $350,000 bond with a 10 percent surety after being arrested Wednesday in the robbery of a pizza delivery driver, a crime mirroring one he was charged with two years ago.
Rodney D. Hampton, 40, and Jonathon Zickefoose, 40, have been charged with the aggravated robbery of a female pizza delivery driver on Wednesday at a South Countyline Street location.
According to Fostoria Municipal Court, Hampton was arraigned early Thursday morning and is currently being held on bond for $350,000, with a 10 percent surety. His case been continued to 1:30 p.m. Monday, and he has been appointed a Hancock County public defender.
Zickefoose also faced a judge Thursday morning and is being held on bond for $25,000 with a 10 percent surety. His case has been continued to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, and he has been referred to attorney Michael Kelly.
According to police reports, the pair ordered a pizza Wednesday morning at a 7-Eleven payphone and, upon the female driver’s arrival to deliver the pizza, Hampton assaulted the woman and stole a money bag as well as a cell phone from her vehicle and fled from the scene. During the struggle, Hampton produced a utility knife which the woman was able to take from his possesssion and use it to slice his hand before he took it back from her.
Zickefoose was taken into custody after officers received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle at a Findlay Street location.
Officers were able to locate Hampton hiding beneath a tarp draped over a swingset in the backyard of a property in the 400 block of West Crocker Street. The money bag, the driver’s cell phone and the utility knife used in the assault were also found on a nearby property.
The incident wasn’t the first time Hampton has been charged in the robbery of a female pizza delivery driver, although the first case against him was dismissed.
According to a Review Times article published in August 2007, Hampton was involved in an August 2007 incident when he was charged with the armed robbery of a female employee at a separate pizza restaurant during a delivery to an East Sixth Street location.
When the delivery driver arrived at the residence, no one answered the door, but Hampton emerged from beneath a tarp on the front porch and robbed the woman of $39.25 worth of food and $80 in cash, according to the report. According to court records, the case was bound over to Seneca County Common Pleas Court in September 2007 and the robbery count was dismissed the following month.
Hampton has also previously been found not guilty of a robbery of a Fostoria business.
In 2002, Hampton was found not guilty of robbery of Jim and Marian’s Diner at the corner of Midblock and West Lytle Street by a jury in Seneca County Common Pleas Court, according to an article in the Review Times.
Hampton’s criminal past includes charges of felony theft, drug abuse, three counts possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, two counts of resisting arrest, obstruction of official business, aggravated menacing, disorderly conduct, open container, criminal mischief, bond violation, misuse of a credit card, three counts theft, petty theft, DWI, receiving stolen property, possession of counterfeit money, two counts of robbery, aggravated burglary and carrying a concealed weapon.
Zickefoose’s past criminal charges include theft, burglary, tampering with evidence, domestic violence, disorderly conduct, persistent disorderly conduct and a complicity to felony drug charge.

How stupid can you be? I think it's everyone's business to know what these two jerks have done now and in the past. If you don't want to see your name in the paper and people to know what you've done in the past, then don't be so STUPID as to do something like to get it in the paper. They get what's coming to them. I have no pitty on either one of them.
