A thick blanket of fog has pulled across much of Ohio, prompting school delays and warnings to motorists.
Dozens of districts have decided to open schools one or two hours late this morning because of heavy fog stretching across central and northern Ohio.
The National Weather Service explains that the fog was produced by cool temperatures overnight following rainfall on Wednesday that saturated the lower atmosphere.
The weather service had dense fog advisories in effect for the majority of Ohio's 88 counties until midmorning today.
Forecasters were urging motorists to use caution and slow down because of reduced visibility.
At presstime today, two-hour delays were in effect for the following area schools: Bettsville, Carey, Elmwood, Fostoria Community and St. Wendelin, Gibsonburg, Hopewell-Loudon, Lakota, New Riegel, Sentinel Career Center, Tiffin, Upper Sandusky and Van Buren.
